The world's first purpose-built aircraft carrier, on her port side at fifty-three metres.
Launched September 1919, the first ship ever designed and built from the keel up as an aircraft carrier. Japanese carrier aircraft sank her off Batticaloa on 9 April 1942, along with her escort HMAS Vampire. She lies on her port side in about fifty-three metres, and the visibility out there is good enough that you can see the shape of her from the descent line. The control tower is close to intact. There is glass still in windows and emergency light globes still in their fittings.
This is a technical decompression dive and we run it as one: normoxic trimix minimum (TDI or IANTD), staged deco, surface support, and wreck penetration certification if you intend to go inside. It is not a dive we sell to people who ask whether they can 'just have a look'.
